LATAM: Going Local vs. Cross-Border Operations in the Top 5 Markets (Tuesday 3/19 – 11:15am)
Cross-border eCommerce is critical to both Ekata and our customers. I’m eager to learn about trends and business problems the speakers will present, and use that knowledge as we expand partnership efforts in Latin America.

Panel: Machine Learning (Tuesday 3/19 – 3:15pm)
Machine Learning is a core of my job – I own products that are used by our customers in ML models, as well as our proprietary ML signals such as Confidence Score. I’m always excited to hear about the innovation and trends in applying ML to the fraud space as it helps me frame how we can provide the best possible ML offering to our customers.
Storytime with the FBI (Wednesday 3/20 – 2:15pm)
Context is everything when it comes to Machine Learning model building, the more you know about the context behind the data the better. I’m hoping to gain some context by attending this session and hear some firsthand accounts of novel techniques fraudsters use to avoid detection. Plus, this topic just sounds cool!
Machine Learning: The Superhero Fighting Modern Fraudsters (Wednesday 3/20 – 6:00pm)
I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention my own presentation at the Las Vegas Machine Learning Meetup! We have some great event planned that I think will be valuable for any Fraud Manager interested in ML, whether it’s already a key part of their fraud solution or just a consideration for the future. I’m also looking forward to connecting with folks in the industry and learning more about how they are using ML. RSVP here.
Sam Pascoe  |  Strategic Partnership Manager
Payments 101 (Monday 3/18 – 9:00am)
The payments space is so intricate—and getting even more complicated with the addition of PSD2 and 3D-Secure. This intro session will be great to get a run-down of what’s going on in the industry.
Fraud 201 (Monday 3/18 – 1:30pm)
Although Ekata has lived and breathed in the fraud space for years, it’s always valuable to get perspectives from other companies and roles within the fraud fighting world.
Two Factor Authentication – The Future of Payments in Europe (Tuesday 3/19 – 11:15am)
Ekata opened a European office this quarter (hello Amsterdam!) and global expansion is top of mind. Learning about the payments landscape in Europe will be new—and timely—material for me.
Kelsey Teel  |  Product Marketing Manager
The New Era of the Payment Function and its Key Success Drivers (Wednesday 3/20, 2:15pm)
As Product Marketing Manager, it is important for me to stay up-to-date on industry shifts, emerging fraud trends, and the challenges they bring. I am really looking forward to hearing from this panel about the new era of payments and its evolution from an operational function to a key part of revenue growth. This subject is directly in-line with what we have been up to lately from an innovation standpoint, as we look forward to announcing the launch of our most impressive yet – an API designed to fight payment fraud and improve the efficiency of authorizations.
Two Factor Authentication – The Future of Payments in Europe (Tuesday 3/19 – 11:15am)
The Ekata European footprint is already impressive and on track to grow exponentially this year as we take it to the next level and put team members on the ground. Cross-border identity verification is the backbone of our solutions, which brings unique challenges to our product team as data availability, regulations, and security standards vary widely by country. I am looking forward to attending this session and learning more about how to meet the needs of our European merchants in the rapidly changing regulatory environment.
